Becoming A User: You may visit our Website without creating an account, but you will not have full access to our Service. Visitors who wish to use the Service must create an account, thus becoming a User. To create an account or sign into Scalegrid, Users must either provide ScaleGrid with personal contact information, such as name and email address (please see Section 5, ‘Gathering And Protecting The Information We Collect,’ for details about this form of authentication).
Information Provided By Users: Either form of account creation may create ‘User Personal Information,’ which is any information about a User, provided by that User, which could, alone or together with other information, personally identify him or her. User Personal Information may include information you provide us directly, such as your email address, or information we collect through your use of our Service, such as your preferences, your search terms, IP address, and geographical location as determined from your IP address. User Personal Information may include, without limitation, your name, your email address, your billing address, your credit card or banking information and other personal information you wish to provide. We endeavor to only collect the minimum amount of personal information reasonably necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us, including to provide our Service to you. User Personal Information does not include aggregated, non-personally identifying information, which we may use without restriction. You may refuse to supply personally-identifying information and visit the Website, however, that refusal may prevent you from using ScaleGrid’s Service.
Scalegrid offers a database management service on behalf of our Users which allows them to use their own data with our Service (“Customer Data”). We do not determine what data our Users process through our Service and we do not control how those Users process that data. If our Users input or upload to the Scalegrid platform their Customer Data that includes personal information, we will act as a data processor and only process such information on our User’s behalf and in accordance with their instructions. We will use such Customer Data to: provide and deliver the Service to the User, prevent or address any service or technical issues, respond to a User’s request, instructions or support request, or for any other purpose provided for in our agreement with the User, or in accordance with or as may be required by law. In such cases, it is the User (or, as the case may be, other third parties working with the User) who remains responsible for the handling of the personal information and with compliance with any applicable data privacy laws. If you have questions or concerns about how such personal information is handled, you should contact the relevant entity that is using the Service, and refer to their separate privacy policies.
ScaleGrid does not knowingly collect information from, or direct any of our content specifically to, children or teenagers under the age of 18. If you are under 18, you may not create an account and you may not send us any personal information without parental consent. If we learn or have reason to suspect that a User of our Service is under the age of 18, we will promptly delete any personal information in that User’s account.
We use your information in order to (a) provide you with the Service under our agreement with you and (b) where we have a legitimate interest in doing so to optimize the Service we offer and to let you know about our other products, services and promotions.
For instance, ScaleGrid may use information you provide to send you information regarding our Service, such as promotions or events; to provide you with technical support; to solicit feedback about our Service; or to notify you if our policies change. You may manage your receipt of these communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link located on the bottom of ScaleGrid’s emails or manage your notifications options in the Settings panel of your User Profile. Additionally, you may send a request specifying your communications preferences to [email protected]. Opting out may prevent you from receiving email messages regarding improvements or offers we think you may be interested in; however, you may not opt out of Service-related e-mails (e.g., planned downtime, feature updates, or security issues).
Industry Standards In Data Security: ScaleGrid takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect User Personal Information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction; maintain data accuracy; and help ensure the appropriate use of User Personal Information. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
No Responsibility For Providers’ Security: In addition, while we take all measures reasonably necessary to ensure that our affiliated organizations, such as our payment processing services, keep your information confidential and secure, these organizations’ practices are ultimately beyond our control. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
ScaleGrid discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of ScaleGrid, third parties, or the public at large. In complying with court orders and similar legal processes, ScaleGrid strives for transparency. When permitted, we will make a reasonable effort to notify Users of such disclosure.
Access To User Information: As an ScaleGrid User, you may access, update, alter, or delete your basic User profile information by editing your user profile or contacting [email protected]. However, we require some of this information in order to provide you with the Service. You are always free to terminate your use of the Service.
Data Retention: Following termination or deactivation of your User account (a) we may retain User Personal Information for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, contract performance and enforcement, or audit purposes and (b) we will promptly delete or return to the User all Customer Data that is personal information, and delete existing copies, unless further storage of the personal information is required or authorized by applicable law.
Deletion Of User Information: If you wish to cancel your account, delete your User Personal Information, or request that we no longer use your information to provide you Service, please contact [email protected]. We may retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Control Of Communications From Us: ScaleGrid may occasionally send Users an email to tell you about new features, solicit feedback, notify you of important changes, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with ScaleGrid and our products. You may manage your receipt of these communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link located on the bottom of ScaleGrid’s emails or manage your notifications options in the Settings panel of your User Profile. Additionally, you may send a request specifying your communications preferences to [email protected].
