RNG’s government-related, public-sector, and regulated customers often need to modernize critical infrastructure while maintaining strict data residency, operational control, and high availability. These requirements are especially important for organizations that cannot rely on generic public cloud infrastructure because of compliance, sovereignty, or locality constraints.
To support these customers, RNG needed to offer managed database services as part of its broader Zadara Edge Cloud platform. However, RNG is not a specialized database company. Its focus is on delivering complete managed infrastructure environments, including virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, load balancing, advanced networking, disaster recovery, and managed services.
RNG needed a managed database partner that could integrate with its Zadara-based architecture and help customers consume PostgreSQL without requiring internal teams to manage database operations manually.
RNG selected ScaleGrid to power the managed database layer within its Zadara Edge Cloud ecosystem. Today, RNG primarily uses ScaleGrid for managed PostgreSQL deployments. A typical architecture includes a single-region deployment on Zadara Edge Cloud, a master/standby PostgreSQL configuration, and backups stored in a remote S3-compatible storage location.
With ScaleGrid, RNG can offer managed PostgreSQL alongside its broader infrastructure services, giving customers access to a more complete managed environment. ScaleGrid provides key database management capabilities including automated provisioning, automatic security patching, monitoring and alerting, reporting, maintenance windows, and production-grade support.
One customer deployment supports the transportation infrastructure of a major metropolitan municipality. The PostgreSQL environment manages public transportation transaction data, including tens of thousands of daily passenger boarding events and card balance transactions, while meeting strict data residency requirements within Türkiye.
By partnering with ScaleGrid and Zadara, RNG can deliver managed PostgreSQL as part of a sovereign cloud platform designed for customers with demanding infrastructure, compliance, and continuity requirements.
