We’ve got a few new features and updates to share with you this month! We have been focusing a lot on PostgreSQL this past month, and we also have a brand new customer story we’d like to share with you. Without further ado, let’s get started with the new PostgreSQL updates.

pgVector Support

pgVector is quickly establishing itself as one of the leading data repositories for AI/ML models. It is a PostgreSQL extension that enables fast and scalable vector similarity search, as well as storing embeddings, which is essential for many AI/ML applications such as image recognition, natural language processing, and recommendation systems.

ScaleGrid now officially supports the pgVector extension and can assist with companies’ AI initiatives. With ScaleGrid, you can easily deploy and manage pgVector clusters on your cloud provider of choice, or on-premise and private clouds. ScaleGrid can help you leverage the power of pgVector and PostgreSQL to build and deploy AI/ML solutions faster and easier than ever before.

Point in Time Restore (PITR) for PostgreSQL

Lower your Disaster Recovery RPO with ScaleGrid’s new point-in-time restore (PITR) for PostgreSQL. PITR allows you to recover your database to a specific point in time, minimizing data loss and downtime in case of a disaster. This release officially adds PITR support for AWS and DigitalOcean.

With ScaleGrid, you can easily configure and perform PITR for your PostgreSQL clusters, and restore them to any point within the backup retention period. ScaleGrid also provides continuous backups, encryption, compression, and retention policies for your PostgreSQL backups. With ScaleGrid’s PITR feature, you can achieve higher levels of data protection and availability for your PostgreSQL databases.
