There will be some potential short downtime during the transition over to ScaleGrid. If you follow our guide, the downtime will be relatively short if you have a smaller deployment, however it all depends on the data size of your deployment(s). The larger your data size is, the longer your downtime will be as the import will take longer to finish.

If you decide to migrate your deployments over to ScaleGrid, great! Your deployments will still be stored on Akamai infrastructure just as before, only thing that really changes is your connection string for your application. Your MongoDB® deployment will now also be managed through the ScaleGrid console, which provides many more added features such as role based account security (RBAC), slow query analyzer and configurable backups.
